Meta leads do not automatically become customers because submitting a form is a smaller commitment than buying. The failure can sit in the targeting, ad promise, qualification, response process or offer itself. Diagnose the stage where people drop out before changing the entire campaign.
Separate bad contacts from unfinished conversations
Create distinct statuses for invalid details, duplicate enquiries, unreachable contacts, unsuitable prospects, suitable prospects not ready yet, and sales opportunities. A person who asked about pricing and needs time is different from someone who never intended to enquire.
Review a small sample of actual conversations, with permission and appropriate privacy controls. Campaign reports cannot tell you whether sales answered the customer’s question or repeatedly called at unsuitable times.
Check whether the ad sets the wrong expectation
A creative that emphasises a low teaser price can attract enquiries for something you do not sell. If the package actually has eligibility conditions, minimum scope or extra charges, make those clear. The destination page and first sales reply should confirm the same offer.
For an interior service, ask about project location and property stage before assuming a visual-design enquiry means a ready-to-book project. Explain why qualification questions are being asked rather than making the form feel like an interrogation.
Measure response coverage
Track when an enquiry arrived, when the first useful response happened, whether the contact was reached and the next agreed step. A fast automated acknowledgement is helpful, but it is not a completed sales conversation.
Assign an owner and an escalation rule for unattended leads. If enquiries arrive while the team is unavailable, explain the expected response time and route them into a visible queue. Do not discard them because the ad platform report does not show a sale.
Change the smallest defensible variable
If most contacts are outside the service area, review geography and message clarity. If suitable people abandon the quotation stage, review the quotation and buying objections. If the number is frequently incorrect, test a more deliberate contact or verification step.
Change one material issue, keep a dated log, and compare a reasonable observation period. Simultaneously changing price, audience, creative and follow-up prevents you from knowing what improved the result.
Decide whether more spend is justified
Calculate the cost of a qualified, reachable prospect and the team’s appointment and closing rates. Do not scale a campaign solely because its cost per form is low. When the problem is sales handling or an unclear offer, fix that first. This diagnosis should connect advertising to the CRM and the actual sales conversation.
